Photo Tip- Subject and Background

Next time you’re framing up a photo pay close attention to the distance between your subject and the background. In the above photo the model is right up against the house. Not a terrible result but by positioning her out a few meters we achieve a much more pleasing effect.

(Note- as with anything subjective this isn’t a hard, fast RULE. There are some instances where close proximity to a background is desired, but more often than not you’ll find separation is the way to go).
